These Terms govern your use of the Parlance mobile app (“the app”, “we”, “us”). By downloading or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the app.

1. The service

Parlance helps you practice speaking a language out loud and gives automated feedback. Features and content may change or be discontinued at any time.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country) to use the app.

3. No account required

The app works without a login. A random anonymous identifier is created on your device to store your progress, as described in our Privacy Policy.

4. Subscriptions & billing

• Some features require “Parlance Pro”, an auto-renewing subscription billed through your Google Play account.
• Your subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Manage or cancel anytime in Google Play → Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
• Prices are shown in the app before purchase and may vary by region. Payments and refunds are handled by Google Play under its terms.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the app including attempting to break, overload, reverse-engineer, or resell it, or using it for unlawful purposes.

6. Your content

You keep ownership of the voice recordings you make. You grant us a limited license to process them (and their transcripts) solely to provide the service for example, to transcribe and give feedback as described in the Privacy Policy. You’re responsible for what you record.

7. Automated feedback no professional advice

Feedback, scores, and suggestions are generated automatically by AI and may be inaccurate or incomplete. They are for practice only and are not professional, linguistic, career, or other advice. Use your own judgement.

8. Intellectual property

The app, its content, and branding are owned by Parlance and protected by applicable laws. These Terms don’t grant you any rights to our trademarks or content beyond using the app as intended.

9. Disclaimers

The app is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. We don’t guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that feedback will be accurate.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for loss of data or progress, arising from your use of the app.

11. Termination

You may stop using the app at any time and delete your data from Settings. We may suspend or end access if you violate these Terms.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms; material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date. Continued use after changes means you accept them.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Parlance is incorporated, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
